PLATTER
As with other turntables within the E.A.T. portfolio, the diameter of the E-Flats platter is oversized compared to those found on most other turntables. A diameter of 33cm was chosen because the moving mass is twice that of a standard 30cm platter, meaning greater levels of stability and tolerance. The E-Flat, like with other models in the range, utilises a layer of melted vinyl on top of the aluminium platter to provide an optimal surface for your records, along with TPE damping on the underside of the platter.
The platter for the E-Flat is driven by a dual motor system that assists in providing consistent speed stability. The two motors do not run in parallel, but act like a virtual 24-pole motor, with the drive belt running between the two, encircling an aluminium sub-platter that provides further anti-resonance properties.
The E-Flat also comes supplied with a low-mass aluminium record clamp to ensure a secure fit of the record during playback and provide you with the best listening experience possible.
TONEARM
Thanks to the continued evolution of carbon fibre, E.A.T. has been able to create an arm with the practical and aesthetic benefits of a flat form. The E-Flat tonearm runs 10 in length and employs a unpivot bearing that is extremely precise and accurately balanced, thanks to components endowed with especially hard metal surfaces. A flat arm tube opens a number of possibilities for the designer as well as the listener.
CARTRIDGE
The E-Flat is offered with a pre-fitted Jo No.5 moving coil cartridge in the box. The Jo No.5 is manufactured using a unique process called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), which processes thin layers of powder to build the final structure. The Jo No.5 is made with a nude fine-line stylus that will provide you with great precision and detail, that will match the efficiency of the other components used.
