Melody Gardeau is one of the three greatest American female singers of the 21st century, along with Norah Jones and Madeleine Perreault. Since her debut in 2008, she has been number one on the charts in many countries. She is a “miracle singer” who continues to inspire many artists, including Billy Irish, who has declared himself a fan. This long-awaited new album is her first since her hit “Sunset in the Blue” in 2020, in which she also performed with Sting. Melody, who also plays piano and guitar, concentrates on vocals on this album, which is an intimate duo work with pianist Philip Baden-Powell. The album features mainly new songs, but also includes “Aragainable Things” sung by Pierre Baroux in the movie “Man and Woman,” and “Samba de Prelude,” a famous song by Philippe’s father, Baden-Powell, who was one of the leading guitarists/composers of Brazilian music.
