Founded by four-time Grammy Award winner Michael League of Snarky Puppy, the GroundUp Music label has been attracting attention from the music scene not only in the U.S. but around the world. The label, which serves as a hub between artists across genres and continues to produce new sounds, has teamed up with Coreport to release the label’s first compilation only in Japan. The label has been a port of call for a wide variety of artists, and GroundUp’s resonance with the contemporary yet classic sound of the label concept has led to the realization of this project. The music will be selected by Mitsutaka Yanagura (Jazz The New Chapter), who has interviewed many of the label’s artists. The 15 artists scheduled to be included in the album are Snarky Puppy, Becca Stevens, Corey Henry, Michelle Willis, Alina Engibayan, House of Water, and others, and will include 7 tracks that will be released on CD for the first time in Japan.
