Description
Scary Pockets join forces with longtime hero Larry Goldings on The Holy Enchilada, a collaboration rooted in instinct, chemistry and shared musical language. Written and recorded on the spot, the project captures the immediacy of musicians responding to each other in real time, favouring feel and interaction over polish.
Built around Goldings’ unmistakable touch and harmonic sensibility, the sessions bring together a tight-knit ensemble including Kaveh Rastegar and Kane Ritchotte, locking into elastic grooves that move freely between funk, soul and jazz. The result is loose but focused, playful yet deeply musical, with every part serving the collective momentum.
Scary Pockets’ founders Jack Conte and Ryan Lerman have built a reputation for sharp musicianship and inventive collaborations, previously working alongside figures such as John Scofield and Louis Cole. Goldings, a GRAMMY-nominated musician with a vast catalogue of collaborative work, brings both authority and warmth, guiding the sessions without ever overpowering them.
Visually, the project is matched by artwork from Barry Blitt, reinforcing the sense of character and personality that runs throughout The Holy Enchilada.
