44 years after its professional debut in 1978, “T-SQUARE alpha” began as a unit of Takeshi Ito and Toshi Bando. This album has wonderful supporting members and guests who are worthy of such a name. Katsumi Watanabe (Gt) is one of Japan’s top jazz guitarists, both in name and reality. Masato Honda (Sax), who is joining T-SQUARE for the first time in more than 20 years, and Keiji Matsumoto (Key). The top horn section in Japan includes Eric Miyashiro (Tp), Koji Nishimura (Tp), Eijiro Nakagawa (Tb), and Nobuhide Handa (Tb), who leads the Blue Note Tokyo Jazz Orchestra; T-SQUARE’s essential supporting members Shingo Tanaka (Ba), Akito Shirai (Key) ), and Yudai Sato (Key). In addition, the band is already attracting an impressive roster of young musicians.
