Cover Notes: ‘Rammana’ is a deeply personal journey, weaving together the sounds of Northeast Thailand with the psychedelic soul of 1970s West Africa, all filtered through Salin’s distinct modern production ear. Inspired by the traditional drum and folk songs of the Urak Lawoi, an indigenous nomadic island tribe, Salin’s album is a celebration of musical migration and exchange of East and West. ‘With ‘Rammana’, I aimed to weave together some of my biggest musical influences’, Salin explains.
