Healing jazz piano to heal the heart. A new solo piano album by pianist-composer Mari Momose, released as “music to accompany the heart that is anxious about the unknown future. It was released less than a year after her last album “Across the sky” with the Mari Momose Healing Jazz Orchestra. The charm of this album is the warm and romantic tone of the long-established Czech piano maker “Petrov” and the beautiful melodies and harmonies that Mari Momose is known for. The mellow sounds nurtured by the forests of Europe are played with a unique and delicate piano touch. In the year 2020, an unknown virus threatens the world, and an era that was unexpected just a few months ago has suddenly arrived. In the music scene, many gigs and concerts have been canceled and events have had to be suspended for months, and the future remains uncertain. In the midst of such limited music activities, Mari Momose has been actively engaged in online music activities such as live-streaming. In the process, she met new people and realized how many people are looking for music. In order to do what he could do as a musician at a time like this, he decided on the spur of the moment to release a new album, which he had not originally planned to do. In two months, he composed, recorded, and designed eight solo pieces. The production proceeded at a rapid pace in order to deliver the music to the public as quickly as possible. The work was enriched by the cooperation of “Petrov” piano prep, people involved in salon halls that support musicians, the book “Umi no Mieru Eki” (Stations with a View of the Sea), which tells people about train travel and the charm of beautiful stations, and popular Instagrammers, all of whom shared and agreed with the concept of this work. The title track, “Light Blue,” is like a daydream in which, in the midst of sadness and loneliness, one thinks of something beautiful and lovely and feels a moment of happiness. The heart that sways back and forth between melancholy and love overlaps with the light and shade of midsummer. Inspired by the book “Umi no Mieru Eki” (Station with a View of the Sea), which Mari Momose came across by chance, she composed a song with the same title, which is an imaginary journey to a station she has never seen before, swaying on a train. Also included is the theme part of “One Week of Life,” the only song previously composed and expected to be released on CD, which is about the fleeting life of a firefly living in the summer. In the midst of days of anxiety and impatience, I hope you will stop for a moment, remove the mask from your mind, and take a deep breath. This work was created with the hope that it will be a time to think about beautiful and unchanging things and heal the heart. This is exactly what peaches are for!
