Cover Notes: In the summer of 1987, two of the world’s most celebrated guitarists, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucía, came together for an unforgettable performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland – a legendary gathering place for musicians from jazz, blues, R&B, soul, and pop. First, they performed solo: John opened the evening with ‘My Foolish Heart’, followed by ‘One Melody’, while Paco began with ‘El Pañuelo’ – a performance that immediately made it clear why he was setting standards worldwide as a flamenco guitarist.
