Minamoto Hoshino’s “Koi”, aiko’s “Beetle”, YOSHIKI’s “Forever Love”, Oni-no-Blade’s “Kourenka”… The band performs classic songs that everyone has heard before, with jazz arrangements that no one has heard before. Manami Morita, a Berkeley native and composer/performer of “I am”, the opening theme song for TV Asahi’s News Station from 2011 to 2016, and Ami Nakazono, a leading female saxophone player also from Berkeley, formed this unit to perform stunning jazz arrangements of familiar Japanese songs. This is an album of studio recordings of selected live performances of familiar Japanese tunes with superb jazz arrangements. (C)RS
