[Karajan Masterpieces UHQCD Vol. 2] This is the second release in Karajan’s UGQCD series, which was released to great acclaim in March 2017. The original No. 8 expresses the rich local color of Bohemia in a straightforward manner, and the No. 9 beautifully celebrates his nostalgia for his homeland during his stay in the U.S. with a nostalgic melody. These two symphonic masterpieces by Dvořák are performed by Karajan and the Vienna Philharmonic. Both symphonies were recorded at the beginning of 1985. The performances are full of power, eloquence, and magnificence based on a solid structure, and are masterful and passionate performances of a master at his peak of maturity.
