After the introduction and popularity of the 1.5-series arms, unipivot designs, which had not been generally accepted up to that point (the early 1980’s), became more common, and many manufacturers have since entered this arena with unipivot or pseudo-unipivot designs. A special patented alignment system for cartridge installation yields unprecedented geometric accuracy missing in other tonearms. This also permits the cartridge to be mounted with the greatest safety, as the armwand is completely removed from the tonearm and turntable during the installation and alignment procedure. This unique system, which aligns the cantilever and stylus tip directly (and not relying on the inaccuracies of simple protractors which use the cartridge’s often-irregular body shape as a reference), results in extremely precise cartridge alignment.
