Graham Audio LS5/9 10th Anniversary Loudspeakers

Description

We are manufacturing a 10th Anniversary Limited Edition run of our most popular models since the business started, the three models LS5/9, LS6 and LS3/5a will be limited to one hundred pairs per model.

All models have all been upgraded by Derek Hughes whilst still conforming to BBC standards (excluding the LS6).

The upgrades include WBT – 730.01 terminals, Van Den Hul cabling and redesigned crossovers with upgraded components.

The cabinets will all be Eucalyptus with black baffles, and we will only use this veneer for this special edition.

For all 3 models, the increased stiffness of the higher density front baffle results in a reduction of vibrations produced by the drive units being transmitted to the rest of the cabinet, and results in lower resonances in the cabinet walls, making the internal panel damping more effective. Minimising cabinet resonances enables the speaker to better recover low level musical information.

All models will now have HF switches on the front panels, apart from the LS3/5a which will be on the rear panel. This allows for fine tuning the cabinet to the appropriate room.

All will come with a certificate of authentication, and they will be delivered in bespoke ten-year anniversary cartons.

LS5/9 Anniversary Edition:

• Upgraded SB tweeter which will have a range up to 20khz.
• Crossover with upgraded Polypropylene capacitors and metal cased resistors for improved thermal performance.
• Upgraded Van Den Hul cabling.
• WBT terminals.
• Eucalyptus veneer with updated baffle design, a new more efficient port arrangement and black baffle.
• Front panel switch replacing the solder pin trafolyte plate, for more convenient switching.
• Certificate of authentication
• Bespoke carton.
• The revised dome tweeter gives a better off axis response, and a smoother and more extended high frequency response.
• The reduced diameter of the tweeter assembly also means that the acoustic centre is closer to the bass driver, giving better integration of the response.
