On September 1 and 8, 2018, the final episode of “Ultra Seven” will mark 50 years since its broadcast. Seven fans know that the piano concerto by Schumann, featuring Dinu Lipatti on piano and the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Karajan, will be played during the memorable scene in which Moroboshi Dan, who is about to fight his final battle, tells his beloved Anne that he is Ultra Seven. Lipatti was a genius who died prematurely at the age of 33, and this performance is a masterpiece, and has been re-released many times. In 2017-18, the 100th anniversary of Lipatti’s birth and the 50th anniversary of Ultra Seven’s first broadcast, Abbey Road Studios will release the “biggest re-release in history” of this recording with a new DSD 11.2 natural master created especially for this project.
