Cosmic Neighbourhood is a collection of handmade ambient works by Adam Higton, a musician/painter/designer living in the historic city of York in northern England. Described by Adam Higton as “Forest Folk,” the patchwork/collages are pastoral, delicate, and full of childlike innocence, all made from Adam’s own modular synths, off-pitch pianos, flutes, toys, and old drum machines. All of them are handmade, just like the cutouts on the jacket. The sound textures, which are as handmade as the cutouts on the jacket, were recorded on multitrack analog tape. The technique and sound are reminiscent of Musette’s classic album “Darthum”. This CD couples “Library Vol. 1,” a new album by Adam Higton, a musician and illustrator living in the historic city of York in northern England under the name Cosmic Neighbourhood, with his previously released album “Collages 1. This album is a coupling of his previous album “Collages 1”.
