Description
Jonny Halifax Invocation return with a fierce remix companion to their album Açid Blüüs Räägs: Vol. 2, released via their own Greasy Noise imprint and God Unknown. Issued on North London’s Feral Child label, this set brings together a warped collective of sonic adventurers reworking the original material into bold new forms.
The East London-based outfit has built a reputation for their kosmische swamp blues, drawing on everything from Sun Ra, Popol Vuh and Alice Coltrane to Captain Beefheart and MC5. These remixes stretch that palette even further—dubbed-out, scorched, and spiritually unhinged.
Jason Stoll (Sex Swing) offers a heavy rework of ‘Fever Dawn’, while The Lincolnshire Poacher pulls ‘Wail Of The Dead Woods’ into murkier terrain. Band member Chris Rotter creates a widescreen take on ‘The Sun and The Red Sand’, followed by two versions of ‘Celestial Symphony In D’: one from Charlie Behrens (as Collapsing Drums), and a cosmic gospel rave mix by Mr Chestnutt under his Floating World Pictures alias.
Six deep reimaginings from the outer reaches—intense, psychedelic, and gloriously unpredictable.
