Following “The Beautiful Watermill Girl” (C5292) and “The Swan Song” (C5292), Skowhus and Vladar conclude the three major Schubert song cycles with this recording of “Winterreise” in its entirety. Skoufus recorded the “Three Great Songs” in his youth, but in this new recording, made 20 years later, he shows a mature singing style that highlights the differences in his interpretation of the works and the expressive power that has deepened with age.
