Even those who are not familiar with classical music can listen to classical piano comfortably. This is the long-awaited first album by Kairiru Wada, whose beautiful classical piano tone “shimmers” like warm sunlight in a pleasant way. In addition to “The Fountain of Villa Este,” the album includes Mozart’s Turkish March, Liszt’s Dream of Love, Campanella, Ravel, Rachmaninoff, and other familiar pieces that you may have heard somewhere before. In “The Fountain of the Villa Este,” the splashes of the dazzlingly luminous fountain from the crystal-clear tones resonate in the heart.

Karitsu Wada has been giving recitals in the Composers Series since 2011, and her recitals, which include commentary on the life of the composer and his music, have been well received by those unfamiliar with classical music. In 2017, the fourth installment of the series, she will hold recitals in Tokyo and Nagano, focusing on works by German composer Brahms. She has won awards at numerous competitions in Japan and abroad, and continues to challenge herself and grow into a compelling performer.
