The group is led by Tomoki Sekiya, bassist of the jazz band “TRI4TH”; Anna Sato, the “Amami diva” who sang in the theme song of the NHK historical drama “Saigo-Don” and played the role of the sister-in-law of the main character in the Amami version; Hikari Shirato [from Shine & Shine], who was crowned “the youngest Tsugaru shamisen player in Japan”; pianist Daisuke Takeuchi [from TRI4TH]; drummer Toshiyuki Sasaki [from Nautilus]. Pianist Daisuke Takeuchi [from TRI4TH] and drummer Toshiyuki Sasaki [from Nautilus] make up the unit “Kurofune”, which is a fusion of “Jazz and traditional performing arts”, and whose colorful music includes Tsugaru shamisen from the north and island songs from the south. This album, their third album, will be sold by Universal Muke! This album also features a new sensory sound that combines Amami shimauta, Tsugaru shamisen, and jazz! The album is full of the originality of “Kurofune”, from Okinawa’s old songs and Okinawan folk songs to folk songs from Honshu, and even covers of jazz standards and fusion masterpieces!
