Description

The world’s first CD release of a rare double LP set from 1977, edited from the unique and original perspective of the prestigious French label “Sarava,” presided over by Pierre Baroux! Disc-1 (AB side of LP-Disc-1) is a bluesy and folky flow from the rare recordings of piano bluesman Champion Jacques Dupri to Chick Streetman. Disc-2 (AB side of LP-Disc-2) continues with the innovative jazz/world crossing sounds of Nana Vasconcelos – Balne Uilan – Brigitte Fontaine & AEOC, followed by the signboard of the Retrisme movement (literalism), Maurice Maurice. The last one is a soprano saxophonist. And finally, soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy plays five times in a row. Four songs from Steve Lacy’s masterpiece “Lapin” (1971) and one song from “Dreams” (1975), which also features Derek Bailey (g), are also featured on this album, thanks to the skill of Sarava’s resident engineer, Daniel Valancien.
