Despite being an amateur choir, the Shinyu-kai Chorus made a splash when it appeared at a subscription concert of the Berlin Philharmonic. This album was recorded immediately after that concert, and Seiji Ozawa recreates it on a grand scale, making full use of the gorgeous sound of the Berlin Philharmonic. It is also the first Philips recording of Seiji Ozawa & the Berlin Philharmonic. (C)RS
