Femi Kuti, the eldest son of Fela Kuti and the true heir of Afrobeat, releases his first new album in 4.5 years! This album contains Femi Kuti’s unique political/social message, but also includes his first love song and an optimistic, uplifting song that celebrates humanity itself. Femi’s own son, Omorinmade Kuti, also plays piano and bass. Elements of funk, highlife (dance music from the coastal cities of West Africa), jazz, folk, classical, and his father Fela Kuti, which Femi grew up listening to as a child, are evident on this album. Reggae, soul, highlife, R&B, and other African, Caribbean, and African-American flavors! Includes bilingual lyrics and liner notes (to be announced).
